The houses are set in a small rural hamlet called Champagnac which sits astride a ridge with lovely views. The old village of Vanxains, with its boulangerie and post office nestles in the valley below and is only a short drive away - you can also cycle or walk to it. Ribérac, a bustling town is five miles away. It has all kinds of shops, hypermarkets, great restaurants and other facilities such as canoeing and horse riding. The famous Friday market at Ribérac is a must for visitors and is as much a social occasion as a shopping opportunity. Aubeterre, a very old and very beautiful village is only 15 minutes drive away - the nearest golf course is also located here. There are lots of other lovely places to explore. Brantome, Bergerac, Périgueux and St Émilion are all less than an hour's drive and are brilliant for sightseeing (and wine tasting!).
